HBCU Consulting Lab
THE HBCU Consulting Lab, is an eight week program which connects HBCU alum and local business owners with HBCU undergraduate or graduate students to assist on consulting projects that would help their businesses grow.
For students, this is an experiential learning opportunity to develop their business skills and academic knowledge to deliver to assist a small business, startup, or non-profit. For a participating business, this program is an opportunity to increase capacity, revenue and impact. Students work on projects such as developing a digital marketing strategy, analyzing financial and marketing performance data, engaging in consumer and competitive analysis, creating content marketing materials and more.
Undergraduate senior students and MBA students will be eligible to apply at qualifying HBCUs are eligible to participate.
SPRING 2025 PROGRAM
Applications are now open for the Spring 2025 cohort of the HBCU Consulting Lab. Students participants will be assigned to a two-three member group. Each group will be assigned a business client and deliverables to address over the course of the program. As a part of the program, students are expected to meet (virtually or in-person) with their business clients once a week. Students will also undergo several professional development sessions to help develop their business leadership and consulting skills. At the conclusion of the program students will present their final project deliverables to their client. Student participants also receive a monetary award for their program participation.
In order to be eligible for this cohort, students must meet the following qualifications:
– Be an undergraduate senior or MBA student
– Attend any of the following HBCUs (Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, Benedict College, Clark Atlanta University, Howard University, Morehouse College, Spelman College)
– Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
NOTE: Grant award decisions will solely be made by the National Center for Entrepreneurship team, not by PNC Foundation, PNC Bank or its affiliates.
